Quisses
|
I make my quisses in two primary designs. The first works in tandem with the shovel
knee greaves, and replaces the floating demi knee, and covers the entire thigh from the
top of the knee to the ball of the hip. The second does not have the rounded bottom and can be
used on their own with your separate knee cops.
They are NOT legal on their own for SCA combat as they do not cover the bony points on the side of the knee. The quisses can be done with either the single layer or double layer option. The single layer quisses are made from 13 to 15 ounce vegetable tan leather, and the double layer are made from 2 layers of 10 to 12 ounce vegetable tan leather giving you 20 to 24 ounces of overall thickness. Both are hardened in my multi-stage process, finished with a mix of carnauba and bees wax so they will not soften in sunlight. hey are available in red, green, black, blue, and natural brown. They can also be tooled to add a personal touch to your harness. Standard Price $150.00/pair |
